Barry Stone is an Irish songwriter, producer and remixer best known for being one half of production teams The Alias and Jewels & Stone.

He has written and produced songs for Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Steps and Dannii Minogue along with his production partner Julian Gingell whom he met whilst working at PWL Studios for the legendary producers Stock Aitken Waterman.
Recent production work includes the albums “Tears On The Dancefloor” & “What The Future Holds” by Steps, as well as the single “Crying At The Discotheque” by Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
As one half of The Alias he has worked on countless records by artists including Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, Jessie Ware, Little Mix and Olly Murs.
In 2001 he wrote the theme music to the TV show “Pop Idol” along with his partner Julian Gingell and grammy award winner Cathy Dennis. The theme went on to be used across all Idol franchises worldwide including most famously “American Idol”.
In the nineties Barry embarked on a career as a recording artist releasing the single “Never Felt As Good” by Belvedere Kane. He also co produced the album “Nukleopatra” by Dead Or Alive.
